In the US from Canada for a few months. Had my BB unlocked. Have shut off mobile network and kept the Wi-Fi on. Everything was going great, until I decided to replace the sim card from a Walmart purchased phone with time and number of calls restrictions. It did not work on my BB, so I reinserted my sim card back into my BB. Now I cannot send or receive emails or use BBM. Solutions?

Are you still in the US now?
You likely need to turn on data services with the original Bell SIM card inserted so that you can receive the required service books to enable your mail.
Otherwise you'll need to call Bell the sort out why your BIS data plan is not connecting.
