Okay, thank you very much.
One more thing. On the top right of my home screen, I can see the 3G symbol and the wife symbol. Right now, since I'm at home, the Blackberry symbol is next to the wifi, which should mean that it will download things over the wifi and not the data.
However, this doesn't seem to be th case.

Hi again...sorry for the delay, I was away on extended holiday.
How, exactly, do you believe this to be the case? What, exactly, makes you think this is so? If you navigate to "Services Status", then you will see what path (carrier data network versus WiFi) your BB is using for services. But, be careful...some apps have settings internal to themselves that can override the path that the BB is set to use. Some apps can be told to use BIS, BES, WiFi, IP, Carrier, etc. as their sole pathway for network access. I always set those apps to "BIS" so that they will follow the path that BIS takes as it seamlessly shifts between the carrier data network and WiFi when it is available.
Good luck!

Hey,
I had no reason to believe any of this to be so until I randomly started downloading a bunch of apps one week. I did it all from my couch, while (apparently) connected to my wireless router, 7 feet away. The Blackberry logo had moved to beside the wifi symbol and so I thought all was good.
However, a few weeks later, Rogers, my service provider, texted me saying I had exceeded my monthly limit, which is something that I had never done before. Using deduction, I realized what must have been the issue.
When talking to Rogers support, we realized that I was missing the Connection Preferences button, and that perhaps, that was why I wasn't downloading through my router, and instead my data plan.
The Connection Preferences still isn't there, even though I updated to the latest software, and I haven't been downloading apps lately, and so my Rogers bill hasn't spiked at all.
