Control the Hours to Sync BB with Outlook

Hi, everyone. I am wondering if there is a way that I can turn off the sync on my BB to my Outlook during work hours, and only have it on after work hours or when I am on vacation. Is there a way to do this without deleting and adding the email account every time? Thanks. I have a Torch 9850.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Designed first as primarily email devices, there has never been any function included for any automatic turning on/off of email to the device. You can, via the BIS default filter, manually turn off all email delivery -- just beware that it won't queue up and deliver everything when you re-activate it...you'll have a gap of email on your BB.

If you are on BES, you should talk to your BES admins for advice.

Thanks! We are on BES and my admins said to search for info, they don't have an answer. Thank you anyway, though.

Well...a 3 second search of published information revealed this:

  • KB11841 How to disable email redirection for a single BlackBerry smartphone user on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server

That's something your BES admins would need to do, as it must be done on the BES server.
