I've just bought a second hand Torch 9800, but I'm not able to set up a private email account - only an enterprise account. Can anybody help me?

Do you have a Blackberry data Plan active on your account rather then a generic carrier data plan?
You will need a Blackberry Data Plan in order to use the data features on your phone, so give your carrier a call and see what options they offer?

No, it's part of your service from your carrier in the same way they provision you for texts or calls.
Give your carrier a call and check if Blackberry data is enabled for your account

they are the ones who will need to provision you for Blackberry Data, so i'm afraid you will have to get back in contact.
They may know it as a BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) Data Plan.
