Email Desktop Folder Disappeared and other issues

I have a new Torch.  The other day my phone ran out of battery and when I rebooted, my "desktop" folder with my work email was no longer on the phone.  I am still recieving work emails in my "messages" folder, but the email folder is nowhere to be found.  My company has reactivated my account about 5 times and I have taken out my battery at least 10 and it still does not show up.  Can you help?

Other issues:

- I downloaded and installed the new Desktop Manager 6 to my computer and it does not recognize that the device is connected.

- The battery life on the phone has decreased from 2 days on one charge to about 8 hours.

- When I unlock my phone, there is a 2-4 second lag time when trying to open a function (email, text, browser).  It gets faster after a few minutes, but still too slow.

I am a long time BB user, but I am begining to hate this phone.  Please help.

Re: Email Desktop Folder Disappeared and other issues

go to messages, press BB button options, Inbox management and untick Desktop

Did you transfer over older apps?

you could have one that is eating up CPU time.

Older apps transfered to the device with Device switcher can cause issue if not compatable with OS 6. On device go to Options, Device, Application Management is a great way to see what your apps are doing with your CPU usage on #Torch. Just slide top bar to CPU and see what is going on. Also touch the CPU menu to see other time variables. I found out that an app was eating away CPU cycles on mine this way.

Re: Email Desktop Folder Disappeared and other issues

Thank you!!  That got my desktop back.  2 people at the AT&T store could not figure it out.

Regarding the apps running.  The function you listed is great and provides a lot of information.  The problem is that none of the info indicated an app as the problem.

If i can get my desktop manager to now recognize my device, then I can finally get back to my real job.

Re: Email Desktop Folder Disappeared and other issues

What OS are you running on the PC?

Did you do a clean install of it or upgrade to 6?

Re: Email Desktop Folder Disappeared and other issues

XP

I downloaded the setup file: 600_b047_multilanguage

and installed it withOUT uninstalling  5.x version I had on my pc.  I 'assumed' it would correctly upgrade.

Now I am uninstalling 6.0 and then try to run the setup again
