Email problems on my Sprint Torch 9850...

Seriously, it's not funny anymore, my email connection is really frustrating!  Entering my third week on my new Torch.  Set up my email accounts though BlackBerry to be forwarded to my phone.  Everything was fine for the first week and then all of the sudden I've had to restart my phone every now and then to be able to send and receive emails again.  Hours would go by and people would say, "Hey, you get my email?"  I'd even try to send emails to no avail.  When I'd restart my phone, miraculously all my "missed" emails would deluge my phone.  I'd really hate to think I'm going to have to keep restarting my phone just to have one of its key attributes work for me.  Any ideas on why and/or how to remedy this situation?  According to my desktop software, I'm all up to date, not that that should really matter ion the long run I'd think.  Argh!
