Emails Not Working!

Hi There,

Can someone please help.

I have recentley started using another phone for the same number and was sent a new chip for the new phone.

Although the phone line on my Torch 9800 stopped working it has been v useful to me to continue monitoring my emails.

This worked fine for a few weeks then recently (04/05/12) the emails stopped updating.

Can anyone advise me how to fix this and get my emails working again?

Thanks v much,

Zino

Re: Emails Not Working!

Please try this FIRST, using your BlackBerry browser...

1)
• Go to mobile.blackberry.com
• Scroll down to Communication and then to Email.
• Choose the appropriate email set up options.

If that works and completes your email setup/editing, good.

If not, follow these additional instructions:

2) Register HRT: (OS5) Home Screen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scroll to any line entry and > press the Menu key > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 or OS 7 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced > Host Routing Table, etc.

3) Resend Service Books: Article ID: KB02830 How to send the service books for a BlackBerry Internet Service account. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830

4) Then, with the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

5) Now, return to the 1) mobile.blackberry.com email setup as mentioned above and follow that.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

Re: Emails Not Working!

Hi,

Thanks for your detailed advice.

I tried mobile.blackberry.com but it said I dont have a valid sim card.

I then tried the other stuff you sugested but it wouldnt let me register HRT saying - registration message queued. it will be sent once data coverage is available.

The browser on my phone works fine for general browsing from wifi in case that helps.

Thanks again for your help,

Zino

Re: Emails Not Working!

Well, then do a HRT (host routing table) request & then try to access the service.. well, you should really follow the steps which JSanders said.. he has clearly explaind it though :smileyhappy:

Re: Emails Not Working!

Well, I am totally confused.

You have the same old chip (SIM) in the old phone.

But you have a new number (phone number) on that old chip?

Do you STILL have the BlackBerry Data Plan attached to your account?

You need to call your mobile provider and find out.

Re: Emails Not Working!

Hi,

Sorry to not be clearer and thanks again for all the help.

I still have the same number from the old BB.

Orange gave me an upgrade to an iphone so they sent me a new chip for the upgrade.

The BB does not have a working phone line, I have only been using it for emails.

I dont think I have a blackberry data plan (?), I have been using the handset with wifi for emails.

Do you think I should call Orange for help?

They arent usually very helpful I'm sorry to say!

No, without a working line, you will not continue to get email from this point forward.

The device must have a working SIM card in it, with the BlackBerry Data Plan.
