Re: Extend your Torch battery life even longer!

It is not the number of applications installed that runs down the battery faster. It is the number of applications left open, and the amount of activity that is going on in the background.

When receiving many emails there will be increased battery usage. Leaving apps open such as the browser, maps, and etc consume more power. Having the display set to be very bright consumes more power. Leaving the WiFi turned on is another thing that consumes more power. Everything adds up.

Re: Extend your Torch battery life even longer!

The GPS, Maps (all of them), Camera, Net Meeting, Video, and Browser, demand high power usage. When the phone retrieves and sends email this pulls more from the battery. Talking on the phone pulls the most.

Avoid leaving apps open when not in use. The email has to run in the background, and this should be the only main user app that can be left opened.

After using an app, go out using the Escape key (bent arrow, and not the Stop key. If the app has an Exit prompt use that. This includes after using the email.

The display also uses a lot of power. Run the display at 60% brightness or less if this is visually okay for you. Until needed, turn off the WiFi. When this is on the phone uses power for continous searching. WiFi connection also uses a lot of power.

Re: Extend your Torch battery life even longer!

I just upgraded to the 7.1 system from 7.0. Battrery life has decreased significantly. I went from an easy 2-3 days to one day. What programs or apps have loaded that require so much energy. I am not a big app user, so I do not need a lot of bells and whistles. Any fixes or solutions?

Thanks
