General Failure when sending emails

This has just started happening recently, emails won't send!

is your device ruled by a corporation? and using Lotus Domino?

I have experienced this issue also!

 

I tried to send an email from my hotmail that is on my BB and I get the red x and message status says general failure!

I have deleted everything in my hotmail sent and deleted folders but still having issues!

no this is a personal telephone, using hotmail and pop mail: this again seems to be another intermittent problem!

Hello fitbritlad,

 

Within the Hotmail account settings the option to save sent email messages is likely disabled.

 

Try the following:

 

1. Login to the Hotmail, MSN or Live.com email account via PC. (https://login.live.com/)

2. Select Options in the top right hand corner.

3. Select More Options.

4. Select Saving Sent Messages.

5. Choose Save all sent messages in the Sent items folder.

 

Test messaging once again.

thanks for the message however the settings were already correct, haven't had the problem for a week so fingers crossed! More annoyed with tactile screen and tracker pad not responding!

try unsetting the option, save, quit, wait a day, then set it again.

I did all this, accompanied with multiple battery pulls, and nothing - still a red x with general failure.  Any other suggestions?
