I am in a terrible emergency here.![]()
I plugged in my torch to my computer and was amazed to discover it wanted me to enter my blackberry password.
It never asked me for this before.
Well I know the password, since I have to enter it a hundred times a day on my mobile but for some reason the desktop software is telling me I got it wrong!
After two tries I got the warning that if I enter an incorrect password on the third attempt all data will be erased!
Good grief! ! ! !
What is going on here!?
I KNOW the password to my mobile, I entered it correctly both times but now I am terrified of ever attaching my blackberry to my computer ever again!
I have to reinstall my OS because of problems and wanted to backup everything to my computer but now --woah!
HELP!!!!!!!

How about temporarily removing your password from your phone and then back it up?
Uninstall and reinstalling of desktop manager might get rid of the password issue, also.

impossible.
i had to give up trying to remove the password to my mobile ages ago.
once you add a password to it it is locked in permanently and cannot be turned off.
there is no option to deactivate that.

Doing a security wipe on your phone should disable the password option. If you wish to give that a shot, from your homescreen go to Options>Security>Security Wipe and follow the directions. Once that's done, you can restore your phone using BlackBerry Desktop Software.
I hope that helps you. ![]()
