My Device: BB Curve 8530 & BB Torch 9800
My Carrier: US Cellular(Curve 8530) & AT&T (Torch 9800)

Hello everyone......&....i have a problem

This is my second Blackberry. My first was a Curve 8530.

I have liked both, but like the new Torch 9800 better.

My problem:

why does the BB website not recognize thqat i am using IE8 on my computer.

It keeps telling me i am using IE6 and that i ned to update to IE8.

I am running windows XP sp3.

all i want to do is re-register with BB because i cant remember my old login/PW.

Thanks!

Are you trying to get your Torch 9800 device PIN registered on your BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) account?

Have you moved your SIM card from the 8520 to the 9800? Sometimes, that will automatically switch the on the account to the new device. If not, and you can not login to the account yourself, call your service provider (to whom you pay your monthly bill) and ask them to reset your account, so you can set it up once again, new.

Re: Hello everyone......&....i have a problem

Not sure about the BIS account.

( has been almost 2 years since i set up my BB Curve 8530 )

The Curve 8530 was US Cellular. and i was told the sim-card wasn't removeable.

The AT&T Torch 9800 i dont know about as i have only had it a short time.

I was able to transfer all my data from the 8530 to the 9800 using the desktop software.

When i went to re-load all my apps from BB appworld i couldnt remember my old Login/PW.

I was finally able to login to myBlackberry using a new Login and PW.

( going to try and see if that works on the phone now )

But then i cant do anything on my computer as the BB website begins telling me

that i am not using IE8. ( i am using IE8 w/ Windows XP sp3)

thanks for the quick answers !

Re: Hello everyone......&....i have a problem

Ah, additional information, details, always nice to have!

So you changed providers from US Cellular to AT&T.... your old BIS account on US Cellular is no longer accessible and you need to create a new on with AT&T.

AppWorld is a separate issue than this and unrelated. Keep that issue for another time, because you won't be able to use AppWorld until you get your BIS account setup with ATT.

So, go to your Setup folder on your BlackBerry  and find your personal email setup icon, and follow the instructions there to setup your email.

Your "myBlackBerry" forum account has nothing to do with this either. And there are known issues of viewing the myBlackBerry site and getting the error to which you refer.

Yea, I really think you're dealing with three different issues here...

  1. BlackBerryID
  2. myBlackBerry website
  3. your BIS account
