After updating BBM to the recent version today, i have lost all access or connectability to the App World icon. If i recall, the update was version 7? can't find which the technical details i need to give you more. Phone is a Torch 9800

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
Please try this sequence:
1) Remove AppWorld from your BB
2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot (power on, remove battery, wait, insert battery, wait), even if redundant to the one you did in step 1.
3) Install (on your BB) a fresh copy of AppWorld
4) Do another Batt-Pull reboot
5) See if it now works.
Otherwise, please provide further details...for example, from "have lost all access or connectability to the App World icon", I cannot quite tell exactly what your situation is. Please describe exactly what you see, exactly what you try, and exactly what happens.

sorry, what i meant was the application was failing to initialize. The upgrade was to BBM 18.104.22.168 will update you when the uninstall and clean reinstall are completed.. thanks again for the help

i tried the uninstall and a fresh install... nothing happens at all when touching or clicking on the "blackberry world" icon on the main screen. I did several battery pull reboots
according to : options/device/application management/blackberry app world the version is 22.214.171.124 says installed at 11:25, used at 11:29 and there are 11 modules.
mobile, and wifi connections all active.

FYI...that's your best description yet of your situation...even "failing to initialize" didn't quite describe your situation...this is the best. Thank you.
I now recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens. Also, consider removing BBM and seeing if you can get AW to function correctly, then doing a new fresh BBM install.
