Memory Card Error Message in Torch 9860

Hallo All,

I have a problem with my 9860's Memory card. I bought the phone on July 2012, and it work perfectly before. Until this couple of days it started to have problem. I just upgraded my Os to os 7.1 bundle 2061 (v7.1.0.714, platform 5.1.0.532) last week. And after that I felt the error started to appears. It happened to my wife's 9860 also. luckily I cold manage to restore the picture and file. And today the problem occur again. The picture in my media card are showing when I open the library, but when I open the file it got corrupted or it showed correctly and then disappear from the screen.

 

Please help me with my problem. Is it related to the memory card or to the OS. Because my wife have problem before with the media card. And it become worst within this week after we upgraded our OS.

Welcome to the Support Community!

To resolve this issue, I'd recommend transferring any media files to a computer to back them up and reformatting the media card. This KB article should help you reformat the media card. "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted" http://bbry.lv/NA6MGt

Formatting the media card will remove all the media files from it. The following articles provide additional steps to transfer media files to the computer so you will have copies to restore afterwards.

Hi FrankieS,
I have formatted the card many times, but it didn't worked at all. I'm thinking of buying a new memory card.but i'm afraid it will not work also. So please if someone know the way to solve this

Since the issue seemed to become worse after upgrading your software, you may wish to rule out any software issue by first backing up your data then doing a clean reload of your BlackBerry® Device Software. For further instructions, please see the following KB articles

For Windows:

For Mac:
"Back up and restore BlackBerry smartphone data on a Mac computer using BlackBerry Desktop Software" http://bbry.lv/L9UqAk
"Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer" http://bbry.lv/J0UN1U

Please make sure to backup your data before performing the software reload and also to check to make sure the issue with the media card has been resolved before restoring any data from the backup file. If this doesn't resolve the issue, then I would recommend trying another media card.

Hhm it maybe the problem in mine. But my wife have this problem many time before. Even though we change the OS. Is there any other solution?
