My phone screen is totally black

I have had my blackberry 9800 under a year and the screen has gone totally black ... The led lights is working and also the keypad. I'm getting calls but the problem is the screen is black so I cant see anything ... can you tell me what is wrong with my phone thanks

did u try removing the battery

might be a defective device

Try a Battery pull please, with the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery 15 seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot device. This will clear all cache like rebooting a PC. Then try again and see if your problem persists.

Yes I did remove the battery a couple times it's still black do you think it's the strip/band and why did it go so fast???
