No Ringtone/ Alarm

I am having trouble with the sounds on my phone. It won't make a noise when I am recieving a call, or play music when the alarm is going off. Have checked all settings I can think of that might affect it!

Please help!

 

Have tired numerous reboots which either dont work at all or the problem soon starts again!

Hello buffyjane and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.

 

Sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue with the Sounds on your BlackBerry® Torch™ 9860 smartphone.

 

If you go to your Media folder and open Ring Tones, are you able to play each tone that appears in your folder? Do you have any tones listed in this folder?

 

If you go to your Sounds profile to modify it, when you select a new tone and go to Try It, does the tone play?

I can't find a ring tones folder in media folder.
No sound plays when I press Try it on sounds profile or on the alarm.

Since your Ring Tone folder is empty or missing, that would be why you are unable to hear any sounds. There is nothing to reference.

 

You will need to backup your data and reinstall your device software to reinstall the core Ring Tones to resume notification sounds.

 

Follow the steps in KB11320 How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows or KB19915 Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer and check for your Ring Tones before any data is restored.
