POP3 Email

I just replaced my Windows based Smartphone with a Blackberry Torch.  I have two POP3 emails, neither of which will set up on my Blackberry?  Why?  What is the point of having  blackberry if I can't use it to email?  I type in the user name and password and it tells me they are not correct.  There do not appear to be any settings to configure manually.

Re: POP3 Email

Are you typing in the username and password in the BIS BlackBerry personal email setup screen?

Is that the exact error message you get: "they are not correct"?

Re: POP3 Email

I too am having difficulty finding solid answers to this question.

I use a BB Torch.

I use WiFi.

WHY can't I pop my email accounts?

I don't have a dataplan, and haven't a need for one (refer to WiFi comment above).

Therefore, PUSH won't work.

I do have 30 days to return the phone, and this will be a deal breaker for me. Is that my only option?

Primecrew, perhaps you might receive some assistance if you refrain from threadcrapping in other users' threads, and start your own, with your own issue to discuss.

Or for example, if you searched this forum for similar issues to yours, you'd learn that you MUST have THE BlackBerry Data Plan on your service provider account in order to setup the email push to your device. Must.

Good luck.

Re: POP3 Email

I was told I needed an enterprise account which I got, even though it is a personal desktop email account. I went through the procedure including entering my address and PW. I got an email on desktop related to the setup which I thought was a positive sign.

The connection was never completed and after another attempt, same result.
