Please Help! Unable to link email account to new Blackberry Torch

Please can someone help me. I've just received a replacement handset for my Blackberry Torch 9810, as my old handset had a fault.  I backed up all my files, media etc. through the desktop software on my PC and successfully restored to my new handset.  I'm having difficulty in linking my hotmail account to my new handset. Everytime I try to set it up through the set-up wizard I get the message "The Blackberry Enterprise Server has not responded to your activation request. An error may have occured". I enter my email address and password correctly every time I try to connect, I also do not touch the activation emails I receive into my hotmail inbox. I think the problem is that I have not been added to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Please can someone help me here?

Re: Please Help! Unable to link email account to new Blackberry Torch

Hello,

Actually, unless you are on BES (and HotMail is definitely NOT BES), then you need to stay away from the Enterprise setting completely. Rather, on that screen, if you do not also have a choice for Personal or Internet email, then your BB/account is not properly set up with your carrier. I suspect that, as part of changing your device, they did not properly complete shifting your account from your old BB over to your new one. But, the only way to get that completed is to ring them (Orange) up and talk to them about it.

Good luck!

Thank you for your help. You were right. I contacted Orange and my Backberry is now linked to my email account. Thanks again :smileyhappy:
