Re: Problems in my Torch 9800

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: Problems in my Torch 9800

Safe Mode is a diagnostic. It prevents 3rd party and add-on apps from auto-launching. As I stated above, if the behavior ceases in Safe Mode, then you need to investigate your 3rd party and add-on apps to determine if perhaps one of those is causal. But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, you have to look at more drastic remedies (as I described above).

All you've said is that you are now in Safe Mode...but there was a lot more recommended above as to what to do next. You may want to review all that I wrote in my prior post above...

Good luck!

Re: Problems in my Torch 9800

Well, I don't know how to guide you further. Safe Mode would have given a result that would have indicated a next step, but you've neglected to say what happened with those behavior in Safe Mode. So I'm not at all sure how to guide you further from this point, for I've no idea what your status is...

You say the other two issues are not resolved...but you don't say if they presented in Safe Mode or not, nor what you did following the Safe Mode test. So I'm lost...

I'd like to help further, but since I can't see your device, I have only your words to help me understand your situation...and from the words you've provided, I do not understand your present situation, nor the results of the Safe Mode testing, nor what else you may have elected to do...

Indeed, for the battery problem, I'm not clear even on what you did...there can be many interpretations of "resetiing it"...
