Reboot reboot reboot

Please can you help me...

My bb torch 9800 keeps getting halfway through a reboot & then it starts to reboot again...

I've tried connecting it to my laptop but it can't. Recognise it because it's not on. So then I try to update it & it gets to module 255 and then stops...

Please help...

Thanks in advance...

Re: Reboot reboot reboot

Are you able to restart your device in safe mode as shown in KB17877?

I assume, since it's caught in a reboot cycle, when you connect to the Desktop Software it doesn't take a stable connection to reinstall your software?

If that is case, remove your battery and keep it out when you connect to the Desktop Software. You will get a pop up that the device can't connect and there should be Retry, Update and Cancel buttons. Select Update and you will then be able to reinstall the current device software version.

When the load is progressing, you will see a step that says "Wait for device initialization". At this point, insert the battery and the reload should complete.

Re: Reboot reboot reboot

Hi,

Have the same problem with my Torch 9800 but it does not work for me.

My devices keeps rebooting and rebooting. Its reboots when it only just started on the load screen about 2mm in on the white line. I have not installed or changed my device. I had to take the battery out and now it just reboot all the time at the beginning of the load screen.

Is there any other way for me to get my BB fixed.

Regards,

Stefan

Did you try the above?

Re: Reboot reboot reboot

Thanks for coming back to me.

Yeah, I have tried the Safe mode but that does not work either either of the options. When I press the Escape button nothing happens.

Yeah, there does not seem to be a stable connection as it reboots so early in the restart process. I tried taking the battery out and placing it when the "wait for device" came but it seems to reboot to early in the process.

Any other suggestions?

Stefan

Re: Reboot reboot reboot

Re: Reboot reboot reboot

It does seem to reconise it as I can see it on the Desktop software but it says never synced.

I have tried the process couple of times and I do leave it then it is trying to install but it fails on trying "reconnecting to JVM". It does try for avail but it just restarts every time.

It seems like it just rebooting to early in the boot process. Very strange.

Any ideas?

Stefan
