Recently the Ring tones and alerts sounds have stopped making any noise. I checked to make sure they were set correctly and they are. I also took the battery out and back in to reset it. What else can I do to solve this problem?

When you are in your Media folder and go to play a Ring Tone, does the tone play?
If you were to go to edit your Sounds profile and test it, does the sound play? If you were to select a different tone, would it play?
If you tried this and answered No to any of the above questions, use BlackBerry® Desktop Software to backup your data and reinstall your device software as shown in KB11320 How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows or KB19915 Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer
