'SIM CARD ERROR'

My BB is showing that there is a 'SIM CARD ERROR' and i have no network connection. i've tried resetting it several times by taking the battery out.. but this doesnt seem to be doing anything :smileysad: can anybody enlighten me in what else i can do to try and get my signal back an get my phone working again.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

 

From what you say, the only repair attempt you've done is a batt-pull reboot. While always a good thing to try, your next steps would be to:

  1. Remove the Battery
  2. Remove the SIM
  3. Insert the SIM
  4. Insert the Battery

Now see if it can come up. You might also try booting up without the SIM, and then again trying with the SIM.

 

Of course, SIM cards, like all electronic things, are not indestructible -- it may well have gone bad, in which case replacement would be your next step.

Thank you but i've just tried that an it hasnt worked :smileysad: it's looking like it's going to have to be taken into the shop!

Found the problem, my sim card has broke! so i have a new one on order!
