Upon receiving an SMS or a voice mail notification, my device freezes. Removing battery needed constantly. Is it time for a factory reset?

Back up your device data using BlackBerry Desktop Application and then have security wipe. To do so go to Options > Security > Security Wipe > type 'blackberry' without the quotes. As this will erase all device data you MUST back up the data beforehand.

If performing above doesn't bring any positive result to you device performance the consider updating/reinstalling your device OS.

Yes, the solution worked marvellously. Txt is back in service.

The wipe was partially successful. Txt msg were working for a few hours. The same is occuring again. I can not send them out anymore without freezing the phone. (Probably need to reinstall the OS)
