SOFTWARE PROBLEMS

uncaught exception:

(276) is not responding:

Process terminated

 

What does this mean and how can i fix it?

 

Downloaded software update for my bb torch 9800, its running so slow now.

I don't know the exact meaning of that error message but it's one of the modules that's not doing what it's supposed to be doing. Luckily, this is not a major issue and we can help you correct it.

 

First off, remove your battery while your phone is powered on then replace it.  Always start with this procedure when something is not working 100% with your phone.  Since your phone is running slowly after updating it, I would also suggest reloading the OS.  I'm not talking about a brand new OS, I mean reload the same one to which you just updated.  This sometimes corrects the problem of a phone that is sluggish (although the battery pull will usually do this so do that first).

Hi, thanks for the reply, but seems I cannot download the previous version of the software, any advice on that ?

I'd give it couple more days before deciding, as the first day or so after a new OS is installed the OS can seem slow and laggy until the OS "settles" in.

 

Also, make sure no third party apps are running in the background and that the browser is closed. From the homescreen, press and hold the Menu key a couple seconds to bring up the App Switcher ribbon bar and close apps not needed.

Thank you, I will wait a day or 2 and let you know if that's the problem. My BB also resets itself by the following error message: App reset 506 and this continues throughout the day, is it something to worry about or is it part of "settling in"?
