Skype for Torch 9800

Does anyone knows if I can use Skype on my BB-Torch???  If not, is there any work-arround or a posibility of having a version for AT&T-Torch?

Currently Skype is only available on Verizon, which does not include the Torch.

It is carrier controlled. Might want to ask the carrier you are on.

Oh because when I took the phone out they said that I could get it for the bb torch. Would it not just be available to all torch users regardless of carrier?

Almost everything for BlackBerry phones, from the current operating system to which apps will work on them, is controlled by the cellular carriers.  BlackBerry makes the phones then hands them off to the carriers who pretty much run the show from there.

 

As JSanders said, Skype is available from Verizon only.  Until the other carriers wish to support it, it doesn't matter what type of phone you have.

Another good reason to go back to my iphone - so I can video skype with my kids.

 

RIMM/ATT   two loosing combinations.  At lease Apple can control Att more than Rimm

Very annoying its not available to everyone and its not wifi / 3g like on iphone
