Well, sort of.
In fact Skype is available for all iPhones, regardless of carrier. I currently have an AT&T iPhone and Skype runs on it. But beyond the apple products (iPhone and iPad) Skype only runs on Verizon phones (and not all of those).
However a Skype user can create what Skype calls a To Go number. Each To Go number has a specific target number for your call. You are then given a local number to call and Skype associates that local number with the target number and you can place the call that way. This works on any phone, land line or mobile and on any mobile phone since it does not require data. I think you are allowed 10 such To Go numbers which allows you to specify 10 target numbers to call.

isn't verizon merging with ATT. will they have skype available then u think?

I just found out the above. Will try it after my summer vacation. Will let you know my feedback. In the meantime, if you do try any of the above, PLEASE do let me have your feedback of which ones worth it and those not worth it to install on my blackberry torch 9800.
