Synchronizing ?!?!? Phone frozen!

Hi, my phone froze, so I took out the battery like every blackberry user will tell you to do. And after loading, it went to a white screen saying that it is synchronizing and has been that way for hours! I tried plugging it in to see if that would make a difference and now it is frozen on the clock screen. I can't even turn the phone off! No buttons work what-so-ever. I have tried re-taking the battery out but nothing still. What do I do?!?
