Torch 9800 AppWorld - endless loop

Greetings,

 

  Seem to be in a vicious endless loop and was looking for any pointers here. It starts when trying to download an app; I log in, it pulls up the terms of service, I agree to said terms, then it goes straight to my user profile, and never downloads anything. I hit the return key to go back, and then have to log in again only to get the terms of service then end up back at my profile. I make an unncecessary change in hope of triggering something, save the profile, and then wind up at paypal. I log in there, and it says my buyer ID doesn't match the ID in their database, then end up back at my profile again.

 

  I can't even upgrade appworld from 2.0.0.28 to 2.0.0.36 from their website or through an email, I tailspin in the endless loop.

 

  What I've done:

           Checked paypal account for accuracy.

           Fresh reload of the phone software using BB Desktop Manager.

           Uninstalled and reinstalled Appworld from Desktop Manager.

 

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am sure you have done this (if you reloaded the device OS), but humor me anyway, and do a reboot on the device (With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.).

 

Now, from your BlackBerry browser, go to the URL www.blackberry.com/appworld and download AppWorld.

Hello,

 

  Thanks for the quick help, but unfortunately I'm still not able to get out of the profile screen and download anything from appworld. Going to that link you suggested allows me to send a email link to my phone to download appworld. But the download link they provide only takes me back to same web site that sent the link in the first place. Very confusing times.

Ok, I gotta ask... you DO have the Blackberry Data Plan on your service provider account?

Yes, I do have the Blackberry Personal with unlimited data plan on my account. It is a bit puzzling.

OK, do it this way:

 

Go to Options > Device  > Application Management and scroll to the AppWorld application and click on it, and delete it.

Now, do a reboot: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Finally, use your BlackBerry browser to go to http://blackberry.com/appworld and download/install again.

After installation, try it again.

No dice,

 

  I was able to get appworld downloaded and installed, but am still unable to download anything in appworld. After logging in to download an app it still sends me to my profile, where my progress ends. Thanks for your time and assistance, by the way.

OK, I'll recommend you call your service provider tech support AND ask to be escalated up to RIM level tech support.

Ended up making a new gmail address dedicated to appworld and this seemed to have fixed the issue with the profile. Crazy. And once again, thanks for your time and quick responses.
