Torch 9800: Software change from Enterprise Model to regular one, without any restrictions

[ Edited ]

Hi everybody,

is anybody able to give me the adress of a shop or company they're able to set up my BB Enterprise Model to a regular one, so that I can use all functionalities? The installed IT policies will make it use only as a cellphone, internet access and creating email accounts is denied. The required Enterprise Server at my company isn't aviable anymore.

Best regards from Germany

Normally a device security wipe will delete the IT policy. To do this, on your homescreen follow Options>Device>Security>Security Wipe or Options>Security>Security Wipe depending on which OS your phone is running.

Let us know if that helps you.  :smileyhappy:

Actually, no...an on-device WIPE does not clear an IT Policy. Rather, the only method is ResetToFactory:

  • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software

And, refer:

  • Article ID: KB16307 Actions performed by the BlackBerry smartphone during the removal of stored user and application data

When doing this, one must also be careful regarding backup/restore. One must not do a full backup/restore, but rather only a selective one, specifically avoiding any databases that have anything to to with Enterprise, IT Policy, or anything similar. If those are backed up/restored, then the offending IT Policy will be dutifully returned to the device, returning one right back to the place they started.

Good luck!
