I eventually got my 'Torch' to ring longer - I'm on Orange in the UK - by dialing  **61*answerservice number*11*20# then press the call button.  The number for orange answering is 07973150123.  The 20 denotes the ring time in seconds, this is the maximum you can have I'm told.

p.s. stick with the Torch - you will get there in the end, I did !

My 9780 keeps doing this! What the heck?! I just pulled the battery a couple of days ago, and today I missed an important call because it never rang. I just made a test call to it, and it silently says "ringer off" then goes to voicemail. Pulling the battery gets it ringing again for awhile, but it still says "ringer off" even while it's ringing! Isn't there a permanent solution out there by now?!
