Torch 9800 won't restart

I have a Torch 9800, it said I needed to update my blackberry id. When I did this my phone started to freeze and won't restart. If I pull the battery and leave it for a few hours it would eventually restart and work for a day or two. I did a wipe and re-install and still having problems. Now I can't access app world or emails and some of my settings. Yesterday it froze and still hasn't restarted. Any ideas on how to keep it working? I just need it to last until BB10 is released.

Is it less than a year old or do you have the extended warranty?

no, it is probably 3yrs old.  I need a new phone but I am waiting for BB10
