I just bought the Torch 9810 yesterday, I did have the 9800 prior to that. When I installed my otter box case on the 9810, I noticed that it wouldn't allow me to use the virtual keyboard. It also wouldn't give me a sideways view of the screen. At first I thought there was something wrong with the phone and couldn't figure out why it was doing that. Process of elimination, I then took off the small plastic piece on the slider portion of the phone and everything then worked fine! So for whatever reason, the otter box on the screen is making the phone think that the slider is open, thus disabling the virtual keyboard. Is this a common problem? It never interfered with my 9800. It really ticks me off, cuz that otter box has saved my phone several times. I even have a spare one and tried it on the phone but got the same results.
