Good morning. I just switched from a Storm 2 to the Torch 9810. My Torch will not enter landscape mode or even move from the portrit mode, so basically the accelerometer seems inop. I have pulled the battery and it will work for a few hours but then it stops again. I am trying to avoid pulling the battery every 8 hours. I have read online that the problem might be related to my transferring some old BB 5 settings to my new phone but dont know how to undo this. Thanks for any help.

I'm having the same problem with the 9810, what I have noticed so far with it is that if I use a case with the magnet in it the phone will not go into landscape mode after a short time. If I don't use the case it ok untill I get a text then it won't go into landscape mode again, I've also noticed the the touch screen is sometimes off target when trying to use it. Maybe a factory reset will cure this will have to try it one day.

This funny ..But reading on the string...To get the 9810 to switch from portrait to landscape..Just slam the slider a few times....not too hard...but it works!

I've been using the phone now for 2 weeks without any problems with the mode switching by using a case without the magnet that turns the phone off. On using a case with the magnet the phone stopped mode switching within 1 hour, so for me I'll use cases without the inbuilt magnet to switch the phone off. Hope this is of use to you it's not the best answer but it worked for me.
my non 9800/9810 (from a 9700) case did similar, I ended up getting the official case and it worked fine after.
