Torch 9850 dropping blue tooth password

I have an annoying issue that has been ongoing for about 2 months now and I have been searching high and low for the answer to no avail.

 

Equipment:

 

Blackberry Torch 9850


Verizon Wireless

 

71. Bundle 1737

 

I have to repair my phone every time I shut off the car.  I have the car checked out,no issues and have checked the phone on other verhicles, same issue.

 

The phone pairs fine when I go throught the entire re-pairing process, but once the vehicle is shutoff the and restart the pairing fails.   Sometime if I get lucky it stays paired for one or two shutdown of the vehicle and then it fails again.

 

I have turned off encryption and tried that no luck.

 

I have tried turning the cars radio off before shutting of the car, recommended somewhere else, no luck.

 

In talking with Verizon it appears as the Torch is not retaining the bluetooth password and they were at a loss to figure out how to fix it.

 

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this annoying issue?

Sorry to hear you are experiencing Bluetooth® issues with your BlackBerry® Torch™ 9850 smartphone.

 

Go to Options>Networks and Connections>Bluetooth Connections locate your vehicle pairing. Highlight it, hit Menu>Device Properties and under Trusted, what is displayed?

 

If you connected another device to your vehicle, does the same disconnection to the Bluetooth happen?

Hi the trusted device is selected and other phones do not have the same issue on that vehicle just the Torch. This occurs with the torch on all our vehicles.

What does Trusted say - Silent, No, Yes or Prompt?

Trusted is set at YES

Backup your device data and reset your Bluetooth database by clearing it as shown in KB10167 How to clear the user content databases from the BlackBerry smartphone


After the Bluetooth database has been cleared, repair your device with your vehicle and try again.

 

If the issue persists then it would be advised you contact your mobile network provide and ask for a ticket to be open with RIM support to investigate this matter further.
