Torch magnetic blackout

Hi Guys, can anyone suggest a solution? My Torch hibernates when attached to my car holder, it is a magnetic type so i am assuming that the phone believes it has been holstered. Can this option be turned off on the Torch as it can with the Pearl and Strom that I have.

S&F

Re: Torch magnetic blackout

What model car holder is it? Got a link?

But yes, it must be magnetic to put the device to sleep. Does this happen immediately when attached to the car holder? No, there is not an option to enable/disable the sleep function when in contact with the holster magnet.

Re: Torch magnetic blackout

Sorry, I havent a clue what type of car holder it is, it is a kind of open cradle that holds the phone magnetically.

Yes the phone goes straight of when sat in the cradle.

I have searched the phone but can find no delay for sleepy time, the only option i can find is options>password, lock hand held on holstering. I have un-check this but it still blacks out

Like I said, there is NO option to turn this on or off, it is on.

Re: Torch magnetic blackout

Actually, I had the same problem with a product from NiteIze (http://www.niteize.com/) called a Steelie car mount.

What worked for me is to NOT mount the magnet to the center of the back of the phone.  I moved the magnet to the spot right over the blackberry logo (about 1 inch from the top of the back) and it worked fine.
