Torch will not sync with Outlook Calendar

I have bought a Torch, but cannot get it to set up in the Organizer configuration to sync with my Calendar in MS Office XP- Outlook.  My computer runs Windows XP.  The contacts and memo will configure (although) they are posting to an archive folder and when I try to change that I get Error 0x80043bea), but the Calendar and Tasks will go through the set-up process, but when you finish it, the checkmark on those 2 Outlook folder disappears before you can even select the advance settings.

I have re-set the configuration on the Desktop software a couple of times, to no avail, and uninstalled the Desktop 6.0 software and reinstalled it.  None of these measures have changed the problem.

Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Re: Torch will not sync with Outlook Calendar

I can sync if I use DM5 instead of 6.  This has been my temp fix for now... I have a ticket submitted for the sync issue so keep an eye for my posts; I'll let you know if/when I get a response/resolution.  (FYI - I've tagged this post so I can find it later to update...)

Re: Torch will not sync with Outlook Calendar

Fixed my Torch/DM6 sync issue after tinkering with it for the last few days. Posted my notes in BB forum here: http://bit.ly/ch9fkh

Re: Torch will not sync with Outlook Calendar

Hi! I see nobody has replied since September. Did you ever manage to find a solution? I've just bought a Torch and love it - except for this same annoyance! Even if I do an 'Outlook to BB only' transfer, it still won't copy over the events older than 60 days. Frustrating would be the understatement of the year. Would getting a replacement Torch from Telus possibly help? Or ???
Thanks

Re: Torch will not sync with Outlook Calendar

I did get it working for the most part by uninstalling the Desktop software, removing all traces in the Registry, and installing the updated Desktop software.  The 60 day cut-off is probably in the default settings, which you can change from 60 days to a longer time, or keep all calendar entries like I do.

We have had problems getting my work email accounts to show up properly- - it won't seem to show both my LAN emails on the Exchange Server, and my work outside email account.  We are still trying to figure that one out.

I don' t think changing your supplier will solve anything- - I think it is a Blackberry software problem.

Good luck with yours!

Re: Torch will not sync with Outlook Calendar

I have a new Torch--replaces a Bold with no synch problems.  When I set it up, I got my address book in triplicate but was able to correct that.  Now during synch the calendar has wiped most of my calendar from Outlook even though I have restored and tried one way synchs from the phone to restore Outlook.

The Phone shows 3 calendars, one for gmail, one for my att.net account and a default.  I have NO IDEA why there are three---I just want one calendar.  If I trigger the device to show "all calendars" I can see all appointments on the phone, but Outlook only shows the gmail calendar entries which are perhaps 5% of what I need.  I only want one calendar on both.  I am running Outlook 2007 and Windows XP Pro, with no historical problems.  I have contacted ATT with no meaningful success, and Dell is puzzled.  If you can find an answer, please help.  Thanks.  Cecil

Re: Torch will not sync with Outlook Calendar

CANNOT SYNCH TORCH TO OUTLOOK...it's not available!!!

I have been using a World Edition with DM 4.2.2 without problem for years. Just bought a new Torch. It synched successfully with DM4.2.2. Then, being on vacation, I had this crazy idea to upgrade to DM6.0, surely it would be better!

Install went ok except it could not remove 4.2.2.

First attempt: could not fully set synch config. Clicking one app (eg calendar) automatically launched its config window; the config choice would appear on main window (for ex the green double arrow showing my choice of bidirectionnal synch) but impossible to check the box next to the applications!!

The synch config was set but impossible to get DM to synch anything (it helpfully told me I had selected nothing  :manmad:).

Unsinstalled 6.0, clean uninstalled 4.2.2, reinstalled 6.0. Now I can set config choices AND check to boxex next to the apps to select them for synch. Just one problem...it now shows only 2 choices for config: ASCII Import/Export and Yahoo. Gone Outlook!!!!!!!!! Drives me mad.

Restored back to a couple days ago hoping to get back to 4.2.2 Total disaster 4.2.2 would not work anymore (not even my old WEdition): Apps Loader inoperative (incapable of finding Device Manager???) and Synch inoperative (incapable of finding Intellisync Config???)

So rerestore back to today. Back-up ok but only possible synch is ASCII - not really a viable solution for me.

How do I get back Outlook as a choice (dont know this stuff but did look in: there is an Outlook folders with stuff in Connectors folder; MS Outlook is listed in the conn_config.log)
