Touchscreen Sensitivity Adjustments?

What effects do the following three adjustments have on touchscreen response and what do the various levels actually mean in practical use?

Tap Interval - 100 to 500?

Hover Period - 100 to 1000?

Swipe Sensitivity - 0 to 6?

Thanks in advance for any help?

Re: Touchscreen Sensitivity Adjustments?

Hello markbaran and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Have a look at KB17193 which will talk about what these options are.

It does say for the BlackBerry Storm, but it's still relevant to the touch screen settings Smiley Happy

Re: Touchscreen Sensitivity Adjustments?

Even with the storm post I do not know what the extremes are.  I want to swipe up and down in landscape and not have a swipe interpretted as a click.

Re: Touchscreen Sensitivity Adjustments?

Hello foolcrow,

The settings I use for my touchscreen are:

Tap Interval - 500

Hover Period - 1000

Swipe Sensitivity - (High) 6

I find with these settings, I am able to swipe without making a selection.

The higher the milliseconds, the more time needed for the BlackBerry to register you're touching the screen.

Let me know if this helps at all.

Re: Touchscreen Sensitivity Adjustments?

Thank you for finally giving me an answer on how to set the screen sensitivity. I have been very frustrated searching the various manuals and sites for an answer. I hope by raising the hover and tap rates and lowering swipe sensitivity I will stop muting  callers . I love BB Ive always had one and I really wanted this new torch but its been frustrating dealing with this sensitivity issue

Re: Touchscreen Sensitivity Adjustments?

thanks for explaining the sensitivity miliseconds.

the default setting was dialing the first person in my contact list as soon as i touched the screen.
