I can move the cursor around no problem with the trackpad but when i want to select something by pushing down on the trackpad nothing happens. I have to select everything by touching the screen. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue. Thanks
Start with a battery pull. With your phone powered on, remove your battery then replace it.

I have also been searching this forum because of this problem - I found a case of the same thing happening with a Bold, and the user said one of the 'official' suggestions is to press hard to reset the button.
I tried this and found that my trackpad just needed to be pressed harder to select things - but I find this worrying because I think I'm going to end up pressing harder and harder until the button is useless. (and because my device is only 7 months old!)
