Transfering Contacts from an old back up of 9800 to a new 9810

I have an old back up of my old phone 9800 which i lost. I got a new Torch 9810 and tried to restore the address book from my old backup.

 

The Address Book- ALL has 2400 entries but it is Dimmed ( Not Highlighted and cannot be selected)

and below it says

Dimmed Entries are ready only and cannot be restored

 

Can anyone help!!

Do you have wireless sync turned on for contacts?  Try unchecking that then try to sync from the backup.
