UnSync windows messenger contacts

I synced the contacts from my profile, "accidentaly", thinking that I could take off that option later on. Unfortunatly I can't find any information on the forums as to how to do this. Could someone please help me out?

Hello polotech,

 

What is the version of Windows Live Messenger you are using? Under Options -> Device -> Application Management you will see the version number as well as the vendor.

 

Can you walk me through how you enabled the contact sync?

Hi,
The version is 2.5.63 and the vendor is Research in Motion. The app came preinstalled on the phone.

About the sync, there was a checkbox when you assigned an email to the phone's app that said "sync contacts from account" I think that this happen right after I logged in for the first time.

It sounds like when you were setting up email, the contact synchronization was enabled.

 

Go int your Set Up icon and Select the email address. When you go to edit the account, you should see Synchronization Options. Expand the menu and you should be able to remove the check box next to Contacts.

I'm trying to unsync my Outlook Contacts.  I don't want my personal contacts in my work email.  I used to be able to turn this off on my Curve 8900 and other blackberry's that I've had.  The Torch has moved or removed a lot of valuable features. 

As a result, I removed my work contacts from my phone, and now they have disappeared from my Outlook!  Please help.  I don't see where I can edit my BES account and turn off synchronization for Contacts.

Hello gmich72 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

 

If you are using BlackBerry Enterprise Service, you can disable wireless contact synchronization which will disable your Outlook contacts from being added to your BlackBerry. To do this, go into your Address Book on your BlackBerry. Hit the Menu key and select Options. Since you are using BES, you should see the contact list Desktop. Click into this list and where you see Wireless Synchronization as Yes, change it to No.

 

As for the contacts missing from your Outlook, you can try to locate them in your delete items by sorting them by type.

Hi there, I've had a really similar problem to all you guys.

 

when i set up my blackberry I kind of rushed it a little bit and I've ended up with a contact list full of email addresses and the like (which i dont want)

 

so far i've tried unsyncing facebook contacts and I also unchecked 'contacts' on my email accounts synchronisation options like you mentioned above.

 

please help

Can you clarify your issue - you are unable to stop your email contacts from synchronizing to your device or disable the Facebook connection to your contacts?
