KB25973 "Uncaught exception java.lang.indexOutofBoundsException" appears when opening Text Messages Application.

OverviewWhen opening the text message application the BlackBerry® smartphone displays the following uncaught exception error

Uncaught exception java.lang.indexOutofBoundsException

Environment

• BlackBerry® Smartphones
• BlackBerry® 6
• DT892979

Resolution

This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.

Workaround

Upgrade to BlackBerry 6.0.0.286 (bundle 864) if it is available from the wireless service provider.

Hi there, I am having this problem just now and am unsure on how to solve this.  How do i upgrade to get my text messages working again?

I have checked software updates, and it says 6.0 Bundle 695 and my blackberry is up to date.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Try rebooting your device is safe mode as explained below. Let's see if any 3rd party apps are causing the problem. If that isn't the problem I suggest you do a full backup of your device. Then proceed to reload the device OS you are currently using if that is the latest version.
