Video not playing

I have Blackberry Torch 9800. Since last 2 days I am having problem with playing video clips sent to me via WhatsApp. When ever I try to play it gives me message of "unsupported content type - text/html". Please help me to resolve this problem. Thanks in advance

How are you attempting to play these files, direct from within WhatsApp, or are you downloading them fully first?

What is the file type of the video file?

I play these files after downloading. I assume that these are VID files. All previous are showing in my media/video folder. Since last 2 days when ever I download it does not show in my media/video folder either and give me message as mentioned in my forum post.

I don't see any 'VID' file format supported by BlackBerry.

Supported video formats 3GP, 3G2*, ASF, AVI, M4V, MP4, WMV

I think these are MP4 files. I can't see these new file in the video folder either. I checked the properties of previously downloaded and all those are MP4 format

Can you play the existing or older files?

 

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

 

Now, try playing again.

Old one's in the folder plays fine. I have rebooted as advised but no joy.

The best I can advise is that you again attempt a fresh download of the file through WhatsApp or via your WhatsApp contact,
