hi i need help as i cant receive calls on my phone and its been like this on the last couple of phone that i have had which were the same as it was happening on them as well as a lot of other things

yes all 9860 models, continuous problems

If it is happening with all brand new handsets you are receiving, it may be worth giving your carrier a call to see if any diverts are setup on your account? Are you restoring a backup from an old handset to the new handset? 

Do callers get  your voicemail when they call or does it just not connect?

Believe me, it's nothing I've seen as a problem on 9860 models.

yes it goes straight to voicemail , i also now an then get like a smudge in the middle of the screen and its done it on the last 3 handsets

I don't think a smudge on the screen and incoming calls are in anyway tied together.

You have a problem with your SIM or network. Something is not putting the calls through to your handset.

You need to call Orange and have them ESCALATE this isssue up to RIM's level two tech support.

Confirm with your carrier on the problem. it could be a routing problem between your sim serial, the mobile number and your BIS.

for the smudge i hope it is always in a pouch or your don;t put it in tight pockets so as not to press on the screen.
