Hi, I apologize if this is a repost, but I only got my phone yesterday and started browsing here today. I have a Torch, and called Bell about wifi and their answer was somewhat useless so I'm hoping for a better response here. My question is: I have wifi at home and am connected to my wireless modem through my Blackberry (this is confirmed, since I needed to enter the password). While at home, both the wifi signal strength "tree" and the 3G strength bars are highlighted at the top. I asked Bell if this is the case, when browsing or using YouTube, am I running off wifi or the 3G network? Since I have limited usage, I want to use my wifi at home. They told me I had to disconnect from the 3G network in order to only use wifi and not use up my monthly MB's. This makes no sense to me if I have to manually switch between connections and when the 3G is off, my phone is not acting as a phone. So why have both things connected if it defaults to the 3G? Or are they wrong?

The priority is as follows:

• Browser transport that the application programming interface (API) specifies
• Browser transport that the BlackBerry MDS Browser Domains Wi-Fi Internet Access Path IT policy rule specifies
• Browser transport that uses the BlackBerry Enterprise Server if the domain name does not include a period (.) or it is a private IP address
• Direct Wi-Fi transport
• Wi-Fi transport that uses the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
• Browser transport that uses a USB connection to a computer
• Wireless network transport that uses the BlackBerry Internet Service
• Wireless network transport that uses the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
• Browser transports based on the order in the browser configuration records

if not on BES and the app does not have a preference then skip the first 3 in the list, that will mean WiFi comes first.
