battery loss

started yesterday my battery will not stay charged more than 2 hours and there is the little black timer i guess that keeps popping up whenever i try to do anything.  i looked up this symbol and it says it means network is busy.  very frustrating.  any help ?

Re: battery loss

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

BTW -- that display does not mean the "network" is busy. Rather, it means the device is busy processing something or other (could be totally internal, could involve resources outside the device), and it's taking much more time than it should Safe Mode will prevent 3rd party apps from auto-loading, and help you determine if one of those might be your culprit (not which one, specifically, but at least to narrow down that it's one of your 3rd party apps).

Good luck and let us know!

Re: battery loss

i believe it may have something to do with my media file specifically the pictures.  a green line runs across the bottom when i open this file and it opens very slowly.  i did do a backup to my computer so would i have to redo this and maybe delete the files from my phone?

Re: battery loss

Ummm...sorry, but "media file"??? I'm not quite sure I'm understanding what you are proposing there...can you try again please?

Re: battery loss

Well I guess just my picture storage. I saved them to my computer. Maybe something didn't finish?

Re: battery loss

I'm sorry, I'm just not following your thoughts, from your words. Have you tried Safe Mode yet? Or have you decided not to?

Tried safe mode and remembered some things that I did yesterday.

Re: battery loss

OK, thanks...so then try undoing whatever those were, as from what I can understand of what you describe, it is those that are the cause of your issues.
