when i type a sms in my torch 9810, it does not show the character count ! so i dont know if the message i am sending would be charged as 1 or 2 or 3 or more... my earlier torch (9800) would correctly show the number of characters being typed in, and if the text typed was gonna be sent in 1 or 2 or more sms's.
If I'm not mistaken, the number of characters remaining will display once you get down to 10 remaining characters on OS 7 phones. Until that point, the number is not displayed.

point is when my sms gets to 2nd msg, I can't seem to figure out how many characters I need to reduce, so that the message goes in one sms.... this is imp for me coz I send regular work instructions to my office team, and know for sure tat I'm paying higher on account of higher sms's !!! :-(
If I understand you correctly, you don't see the number of characters left once you get down to 10 (or 15, I'm not exactly sure).
Is that correct?
