so this morning i had a new text and i tried to open it using the "text messages" icon and when i pushed it it said "uncaught exception: java. lang. index out of boundsexception" can anyone help me please?
i have the blackberry torch 9800
carrier: atnt
os 6.0

With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Try your SMS application again.

So, does the issue only occur when you attempt to view that ONE SMS text message,... or any message?

i get a txt and i go and click on the "text message" icon to open up all my texts and then that message about "uncaught exception" pops out and the only option is to click ok and nothing happens so i cant view my texts at all

I'd try this first.
Connect to the PC > Desktop Manager v6.
Click on Device at the top left: > Delete Data.
Click on the radio button to delete specific database... NOT ALL.
Scroll through to find your SMS messages, and check that box.
You can check the box at the bottom to backup data first if you choose.
Complete this and let the process finish.
Close DM. Remove the BlackBerry from the USB cable.
Now, do a reboot ONCE again... Like this >> With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
And have a friend send you an SMS messages to test.
