I have a blackberry torch. It has accidently lost all the data like contact details, messages, photos, vedios etc and it seems to have got formated at its own or by mistake.
Is there any way to recover the lost data?

Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Have you ever backed up the BlackBerry® smartphone or synchronized using the BlackBerry® desktop software?
If yes you can restore data from a backup file or synchronize info like contacts, calendar etc. back to the BlackBerry® smartphone.
How to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore data to a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file

What if you have back-ups in Blackberry Protect? How do you access them to restore your phone when your device gives you a message "BlackberryID service is temporarily unavailable" when trying to access BB Protect from the device, yet you are able to log-in on-line?

@neice1975, the only way to access backup files created with Protect is from a BlackBerry device. For that reason, you'll have to wait until you can log in from a BlackBerry device.
I hope that clears things up.

Sorry about that, you didn't specifically ask for that.
There is nothing specific to this in BlackBerry's Knowledge Base so one can only assume that it's a temporary setback with the system. For how long has this been going on? If it's been a few days, you might consider going to www.blackberry.com/blackberryid and resetting the password with a new one. This may or may not help, but sometimes doing something is better than doing nothing.
Let us know if that corrects your issue.

Monday morning in a stressful situation I inadvertently gave my daughter the wrong password for my BB and it wiped it out, ever since then I have been unable to access wi-fi systems that are saved to it (and visible on it), unable to access BB Protect even though I can log-in online, and CANNOT find good solid instructions on how to restore my data from backups on the BB Protect site. I'm just about ready to get rid of my BB and this is the first and only problem I've had with it.
There isn't a good or clear source for information when something goes wrong.

As volunteers who like helping out others, we try our best to resolve issues in these forums but keep in mind that we have no special training. In fact, 99% of what I know about BlackBerry devices I've learned in these forums.
If you ever have any problems with your device, AT&T has agents who have been trained by RIM to help you. This is a good course of action to follow because if they can't help you, you can have your issue escalated directly to RIM for support at no cost to you. So to say "there isn't a good clear source for information when something goes wrong" isn't entirely accurate.
I hope I've helped you somewhat. Generally, these forums are a great place to get the assistance you need and I invite you to continue posting questions here.
