Hi,
I have a BB Torch 9860 - I update the phone via Descktop Software - PC
The problem I am having is:
The BB software is telling me that there is a new bundle available for my phone, however when I go through the steps needed to download and install the bundle, I keep getting an error opening installation log file...
I have taken screen shots and created a document with them in it so you can take a look.
I am not sure how to attach it to this post though ![]()
My PC has the latest version of the desktop software loaded.
Any sugestions please?

Thank you for the information.
I followed the link and inturn followed the instructions given unfortunately it came up with a new error, some thing like the installation package does not exist ...
Is there a way to manually download and install the bundle?
Thanks again

Hi every one,
I have found a fix to my problem
Woo HOO!!
If you are getting the error "can not install Akami" or "This installation package
could not be opened......" and you are using Windows 7, THEN I hope that I have a
solution for you ![]()
This was the only thing that worked for me.
In Windows 7, the main user, even though they are the 'administrator' does not have
all the administration rights.
Some installations you can select 'run as administrator' however that did not work
for me, even going to the properties and changing them did not work.
What I needed to do was;
Open a command prompt with admin rights:
- click 'start'
- type 'cmd' into the 'search' box
When you have the command window open;
1) hit CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER
2) at the prompt type - net user administrator /active:yes
Now logout of your main user account and re-login to the Administrator account.
Run your installation programs witht NO problems ![]()
When you have finished, log out of the Administraor account and log back into your
main user account.
Follow the instructions above to open a command prompt with admin rights.
Then;
1) hit CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER
2) at the prompt type - net user administrator /active:no
Now everything is back to normal with the exception that your new programs have been
installed ![]()
Cheers
