initialization failed

I'm using Blackberry Torch 9810, it seems that after i updated to 7.1, my sim came out with "initialization failed". If i downgrade back to 7.0 then no problem will occur. It's weird. I went to my telco shop, they said it's the sim card, so they gave me a new one, same problem occur. The weird thing is that the sim works with any other phone. Even a different number sim but from the same telco, no problem. It's just this one particular sim. Only happening in 7.1.

Any idea? brought the phone to telco didn't help

Re: initialization failed

Hi syawalx,

To rule out any issue with the software installation, could you please back up all your data and then do a clean reload of your BlackBerry® Device Software. For further steps, please see the following KB articles.

For Windows®: "How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows" http://bbry.lv/GI9beY
For Mac: "Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer" http://bbry.lv/J0UN1U

Please test to make sure the the SIM card error has been resolved before restoring any data from your backup file.

Let me know if that helps.

Re: initialization failed

Hey syawalx,

If that hasn't resolved the issue, then I recommend contacting your wireless service provider again for to look into other options.

Thanks.
