mobile hotspot activation required

I have a torch 9860 - the mobile hotspot function is not working. On activation, I get the following message - Activation Required - to use this feature, contact your wireless service provider and subscribe to a Mobile Hotspot data plan.

I have done the following:

1. A full reset incase of a blackberry software bug

2. Contacted my service provider (Optus Australia) who assure me that I have a plan that provides for a mobile hotspot. They also did some resetting at their end (not sure what)

3. Full reset again

4. Full reset again (groundhog day)

May I suggest you to contact your service provider (Optus) again? The experience I have with my service provider in Canada is: Some CSRs don't really know what they are talking/doing.
